Nearly 200 years of watch and clock repair heritage in Birmingham
F Meeks & Co was founded in 1829 by a Mr. George Meeks, predominantly selling jewellery and pocket watches. The business was originally based in Birmingham, United Kingdom, where it remains to this day.
In 1850, the business was extended to Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, under the management of George's brother Mr. John Meeks.
In 1886 Mr. George Findley, George Meeks' grandson took over the family business. His most recorded achievement under his management was the publishing of an exhaustive illustrated catalogue of watches and jewellery.
As years went by the company evolved, providing services such as watch repairs to the trade and public, selling both materials and spare parts. We have honoured this evolution through time and offer these services to our customers today, both for the public and trade. However, the sale of materials and spare parts has reduced and we now only stock obsolete watch parts.
Today, F Meeks & Co continues its tradition of expert watch and clock repair from its workshop in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter. With over 40 years of experience in the current team, we carry out all repairs in-house - maintaining the same standards of craftsmanship that have defined the business since 1829.
Our extensive stock of obsolete watch parts enables us to service and repair vintage mechanical timepieces that other repair shops cannot. Combined with strong relationships with specialist suppliers, there are very few timepieces we cannot help with.
We welcome both trade and public customers, offering free, no-obligation estimates on all work. Whether you have a family heirloom, a vintage pocket watch, a grandfather clock, or simply need a battery replaced, you'll receive the same careful, professional service.
